My Favorite Wordpress Plugins Part 1

With so many Wordpress plugins out there, which ones are right for you?

Here are the plugins I currently use and why…

Ad-Rotator – This is a great plugin for anyone doing a lot of affiliate marketing. Rather than having the same ads served up all the time this simple script rotates your advertisements so your readers get new ads each time they reload a page of your blog.

A lot of our readers can suffer from ad blindness and over time your click through rate start to go down but by rotating your fresh ads it keeps your page interesting.

Another benefit of this plugin is that you can also rotate adsense ads, banner ads, etc.

Alinks – If you’ve want to make money with your blog alinks is a great addition to have. With this plugin you can select any keyword or phrase that comes up in your blog posts and change it into a link to a product in Clickbank or Amazon.

Or you can link that word/phrase to another post in your blog which can help keep your readers longer on your blog.

All In One SEO Pack – The search engines is where it’s all happening, so you’d be crazy not to be making use of this plugin. This plugin is very easy to use and automatically makes you’re your posts more search engine friendly. One of the best things about this plugin is you can select the headline and summary for each post as it would appear in the search engines results.

This way if you are using content that could be regarded as duplicate content you won’t be penalized because you’ve put your unique spin on it.

Evermore – This plugin is great for reducing your blog posts down from full size to just the first paragraph. The idea of this is that your readers don’t have to scroll down through all your blog posts, but they can read a quick summary of each instead. If they like what they see they can just click the read more link and then continue on reading.

One of the benefits of this plugin is that it also helps to eliminate duplicate content problems. The search engines don’t see the same full articles as everywhere else on the internet but rather they see a summary of each, so your blogs front page looks unique.

Global Translator – We all want more traffic to our blogs right? So why not try and capture some foreign (non English speaking) traffic. I’m always amazed to find the amount of people from Russia, Spain etc that read my blog.

While you won’t find huge amounts of traffic to your blog (as English speaking people using the search engines) you will pick up some foreign blog readers and more traffic.

Google XML Sitemaps – Another great way to get your blog more search engine friendly. The plugin creates a site map for the search engines to crawl through so they can easily find all your blog posts.
